I began this book project by wanting to research into brutalism, and through studying the logistics of how brutalist social housing project emerged & collapsed. I then began questioning why it needed to emerge, and why it collapsed. This gave me a basis of how I wanted to structure my book. I wanted to primarily talk about Dublin’s emergence as a city over the years and leave the viewers with the questionability for the cities future, which could potentially collapse, or resurge brutalism. I decided to incorporate factual evidence with my own philosophical view point on modern day society. I also wanted to utilise this book to give citizen’s voices a place to dwell, rather than subside to falling on deaf ears.
